Dr. Laci Schaible, DVM MSL CVJ
Dr. Laci Schaible is a small animal veterinarian committed to educating pet parents how to be the best advocate for their pets. She is the co-founder of VetLIVE.com and a freelance veterinary author.
Dr. Laci has always been an animal lover. She grew up with a menagerie of dogs, cats, birds, horses, rabbits, and chickens and wanted to be a veterinarian since the third grade. Eager to actualize her dreams, she graduated with top honors from Tulane University at the age of 19 and soon became one of the youngest U.S. trained veterinarians in history when she graduated with her D.V.M. at the age of 23 from Texas A&M University.
After practicing as an associate at an emergency/referral small animal hospital, she was anxious to lead and manage her own hospital, which she successfully did for years. Always having an interest in shared diseases between people and animals, she obtained her credentials as a certified Public Health Veterinarian but her love for client education kept her in practice.
In 2009, she and her husband (also a veterinarian) co-founded VetLIVE.com, the first website dedicated to connecting pet parents to licensed veterinarians 24/7 worldwide. Today, Dr. Laci continues to run VetLIVE and writes for numerous publications, including AAHA Trends, Life + Dog, Fido Friendly, and eHow. Her first book will be released in the winter of 2012. You may even interact with her through our live "Ask a Vet" feature.
